Babylon. Der Arbeitstitel meines zweiten Romans verfolgt mich bis in den Schlaf hinein. Fast wortwörtlich habe ich noch das Gespräch im Kopf, in dem mir K. in Danzig das erste Mal von seinem Einsatz im Irak erzählt hat. Danach haben wir uns furchtbar gestritten, ich glaube, es ging um das Ischtar-Tor in Berlin. Keine Ahnung, ob sich K. in einer der Figuren wiederfinden wird. Ihm verdankt sie jedenfalls viel, unter anderem die Schilderung des Kampfes zwischen Walzenspinne und Skorpion.
Walzenspinnen sind nichts für schwache Nerven, soviel steht fest. Und: merkwürdig, woran Menschen sich am meisten erinnern, wovon sie am meisten erzählen. In K.s Erzählungen ging es dauernd um Kleinigkeiten, Tiere, Beobachtungen am Rande, als wäre er auf einem ziemlich langweiligen Urlaub gewesen, und nicht im Krieg.
